It is snowy, gray and cold today. Makes it more difficult but there has to be at least 3 things in a day... right?
#1 - My name is Mirielle and I am addicted to candy. Really! Ugh, it has always been a problem. I find a way to convince myself that I NEED some type of treat every day. In January I decided to try and limit my number of treats to maybe one a week. You know what? I don't miss it as much as I thought. #2 - I love to read; slightly obsessive about books. If I see one on Amazon for 99 cents, I have to buy it. I have so many on my Kindle that I still have not read because I am always finding new ones, or checking out new books from the library. I was going to make it my New Year's Resolution to read all of the books on my Kindle, but that lasted only a few days. I just bought a few new ones during my lunch break (I think this is my new "treat" for the day). #3 - There should be an amazon box waiting for me when I get home (also an obsession). I have been looking for navy shoes for awhile and hopefully these are exactly what I wanted!

It is only 9:00 and I already have 3 things for today. :) Hopefully this means that my actual tally will be around 20! The rest of my day is pretty busy so I need to get this done while I still have time to think about it.
#1 - On Friday my classroom flooded for the 2nd time this year. I was at another building for Institute Day so I could not check things out, but since I really did not have anything on the floor to get damaged (2nd time, remember) I did not think about it this weekend AT ALL!!! I am a closet worrier, I worry about everything, but for some reason this did not phase me in the least. BTW, all was dry and good when I got to school this morning. #2 - Dinner is in the crockpot and will be done and ready when I get home today. I love not thinking about making dinner when I get home. I really do like to cook, but after a long day it is such a chore. #3 - I feel like I am doing very little teaching this week. We are at the tail end of projects in reading and the students are working very independently before they present at the end of the week. My math classes are testing and finishing their units, so this week is a lot of wrapping things up. Feels nice to have this breather before the new units begin and the stress of PARCC testing starts. The 3 Best Things for today...
#1 - Have I mentioned the SUN? It was out AGAIN today. That was like 4 days in a row. Amazing how everything else seems so much better when the sun is shining. #2 - Today was a day of nothing! I did leave the house early to hit the gym and the grocery store, but otherwise I had nothing to do today (well, you know, besides the 4 loads of laundry, meal prep for the week, paying bills, balancing the checkbook, putting away laundry), it really did feel like a lazy day. #3 - My picky eater husbands (who scoffs at anything from my Crockpot or Instant Pot) actually liked the cheesesteak sandwiches I made for dinner. Huge WIN! And he wasn't just saying he liked them (he ate 2 and asked for one for his lunch tomorrow). Gonna enjoy the last of my Sunday... |
